Free Day of Code
MKE’s first ever Free Day of Code was packed. We put this event together to encourage more ideas, more startups, more, entrepreneurship and of course more people learning to code.
A day of coding with some great high school students gave our students the opportunity to be the teacher. It quickly escalated into an all out Smash Brothers competition.
Since our inception we have been offering Free Workshop Meetups to encourage more interest in code. They are great for beginners and those that want to get some free mentor led instruction.
Two devCodeCamp team members took some time away from the camp to Explain why the ability to code is something that can give these high school students an edge.
Teach the Teacher
Many schools in and around Milwaukee don’t have the necessary computer science courses, so we did a three day sprint teaching teachers how to incorporate code in their classrooms.

devCodeCamp took part in Milwaukee’s first ever Startup Week. We’re looking forward to taking part in 2017 to support the entrepreneurial spirit and encourage a more vibrant tech scene in Milwaukee.
